Central Wing Chun
What is Wing Chun?
Wing Chun is over 300 years old. It is said that Ng Mui the founder of Wing Chun was inspired to develop the martial art after witnessing a battle between a snake and a crane. The system was named after the first student of Ng Mui, Yim Wing Chun. Ng Mui was one of the 5 Kung Fu Masters, sometimes referred to as the 5 fugitive monks Ng Mui, Jee Shin Shim Shee, Fung Doe Duk, Mui Hin and Bak Mei. They are said to have survived the destruction of the Shaolin Temple by the Qing government for supposed anti-Qing activities. The 5 Kung Fu masters are accredited with the proliferation of Kung Fu across the world.
