Martial arts shoes are with designed to protect your feet whilst providing mobility and preventing injury to yourself and your training partner. The human foot is extremely complex, it is comprised of 26 bones, 33 joints and over 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments. Injuries can be serious and difficult to recover from. Generally only serious foot/ankle injuries are operated on due to the complexity of this mechanical structure. So, take care of your feet!
Martial arts shoes differ from regular training shoes in a variety of ways.
Laces - Martial arts shoes often do not have laces, those that do expose less of the lace on the surface. This flatter top surface not only reduces the potential for injury to your training opponent it makes performing turning kicks and sickle kicks that much more comfortable. Getting a knotted lace repeatedly smashed into your metatarsal at high impact is never a good idea.
Pivot Points - Martial arts shoes have various pivot points to aid stability when kicking. A correctly executed kick requires the martial artist to spin on the ball of the foot. This is not easy if your trainers are designed for optimum grip for another sport. Martial arts shoes have swirls on the pivot points to facilitate spinning motion.
Grip - Obviously grip is also important to the martial artist. Our shoes offer great grip despite the incorporation of pivot swirls.
Soles - Soles are non marking which is a requirement for many gyms. Our Martial arts shoes are also made comfortable by the EVA sponge mid sole.
Light weight - Your going to be lifting your feet a lot so a light weight martial art shoe is important for both speed and stamina.
Easy-on - Many of our martial arts shoes are easy-on. They have a flexible back that allows for them to be slipped on.
Durability - Our Martial arts shoes are double stitched and made from durable and flexible leather. They are designed to take the beating a serious martial artist will deliver.
